Neilsen Mobile has reported today that 9.16 million US mobile users have used their phones to purchase goods and services via operator portals, m-commerce sites and text messaging. Nic Covey, director of insights at Nielsen Mobile commented “Mobile commerce isn’t a 2009 thing, it’s a 2008 thing,” Covey said. “Already millions of mobile users are logging on to their favourite retailers over the phone and purchasing items. With the success of m-commerce sites like Amazon.com, which more than 2 million people have visited, and eBay, which more than 3 million have visited, this shows a critical mass that represents a real opportunity for retailers.” To read the full article please click here
